Wide horizons beckoned as Semeli Tagara put the finishing touches on her first, full-length Fine! Records release. The young label’s passion for artistry and opulent production enabled the album’s international aspect and cosmopolitan, electro-jazz energy. We approached InsaneSane with the same optimism. Futurist typography, photography and layout combine with refined materials to project the music’s beauty and constant tension between chaos and structure.
“If it’s indie, it’s Fine!” is the upbeat tagline of Fine! Records, a new force in Greek contemporary culture. With an electrifying roster of indie and alternative musical talent, the label’s local and international ambitions are reflected in an unwavering commitment to quality.
As well as setting a unique artist on a new trajectory, the physique of Semeli Tagara’s 2024 album needed to embody the spirt and manifesto of Fine! Records. Our goal was to instill confidence in InsaneSane as a fully formed concept: intriguing and inviting because of its consummate originality and immersive showcase quality.
Recurring themes of paradox and duality are identified plainly in the title of InsaneSane—synthesized by a custom typographic system that is both confronting and sophisticated.
Immersive packaging for vinyl first pressings includes a bespoke, 56-page booklet. Its deconstructed visual narrative expands the album’s sonic landscape into printed space.
Photographic direction mimics the transitionary structure of Tagara’s process. Sequences of fragmented images and type evoke a latent energy that culminates in moments of clarity.
